Park & Battery Earns 2023 Great Place To Work Certification™

By Ted Kohnen

Park & Battery is a great place to work, but don’t take my word for it—it’s what our team have told us about working here at the agency in the Great Place To Work Trust Index™ Survey. We couldn’t be more proud of living up to this ideal. Read on for more about how we’re building a culture where people and their work are thriving.

What does it mean to be Great Place to Work certified?

To gain certification, a comprehensive survey was administered by the Great Place to Work Institute, which assesses employee satisfaction in key areas, from trust and respect to fairness and camaraderie. The survey was entirely anonymous and reviewed independently to see what employees have to say about working here. This means the certification is a genuine metric that tells us we offer a great company culture.

This accreditation is a nice acknowledgment for sure, but it means more to us than that, because Park & Battery’s employees are the heartbeat of the agency. When Mike and I co-founded the agency, we had a real sense of the community we wanted to create, one where camaraderie was just as important as creativity. Where authenticity was welcomed and generosity of spirit is our north-star.

To build the kind of agency we always wanted to work for, we looked beyond a culture of games and snacks and set out to create an environment where everyone can be their authentic selves and do their best work. Inclusion and belonging are more than just jargon to us.

Elevating the employee experience

At Park & Battery, the employee experience means everything to us. Our core promises are made not just to clients but to our colleagues as well. Our shared commitments include:

  • Belonging: We are better when we bring our unique selves to work.
  • Compassion: We think and care about how our actions impact others.
  • Positivity: We assume positive intent and bring it in all we do.
  • Fun: We gotta love the thing to do the thing.

We know our employees experience the benefits of these commitments, too.

Content Writer Robynne Yokota says, “I have colleagues working all over the world and I have never felt siloed in any way from my coworkers. The group chats are always popping, we’re always sharing milestones and achievements in our lives, and it really feels like we’re connected across the miles and time zones.”

What is the impact of being among the Great Places to Work?

Research shows that employees at certified workplaces are 93 percent more likely to look forward to coming to work, and are twice as likely to be paid fairly, earn a fair share of the company’s profits, and have a fair chance at promotion. All of these mean a lot to us in providing the best possible workplace for our employees.

As a rapidly growing global organization, attracting top talent is critical to our ongoing financial and cultural success. The benefit of this certification is that it assures job candidates interested in working at P&B that they can be confident they’ll be happy working here.

We are transparent in all things related to Park & Battery when recruiting this talent. Fortunately, those are a lot of good things. The strength of Park & Battery is our employees. We recognize them through various ways with some being 100% paid benefits, unlimited PTO, a remote working environment, the ability to work with great clients, a profit sharing and 401k program, to name a few. We aim to grow as an agency and strive to be even better.

Relationships make Park & Battery a Great Place to Work™

We know for sure that the relationships our employees have with one another and with us are authentic and built on trust. That’s why this certification means so much.

“The way my coworkers interact with each other makes me feel like we’ve been working together forever. I have always felt comfortable being myself around my team, and this level of comfort truly reflects in the quality of the work we do here at P&B,” says Ricardo Weibezahn, Head of Video.

It is critically important to us that we continue to build a culture of trust, inclusion, and belonging at Park & Battery. That’s the way we want to operate and that’s why we’re proud to be a Great Place To Work.
