Say hello to Rebecca Falk, Vice President of Client Services at Park & Battery. Get to know more about Rebecca – from her favorite work to why she’s excited to visit the UK this Christmas.
Question 1: What brings you to Park & Battery?
When I got the opportunity to come and lead client services at Park & Battery, it was an absolute no brainer for me. Mike, Ted and I have worked together for the past 8 years and we work really well together, but more than that we’re “framily” – we support each other, and we trust each other. They empower me to be a great leader, and to follow my dreams. I couldn’t have been more excited and inspired about joining an agency founded by those kinda people.
Question 2: What’s your favorite project you’ve ever worked on?
I think it would have to be the Thermo Fisher Scientific Gibco brand “Love Your Cells” campaign. The client was open to doing something different, experiential and emotive, and boy did it pay off. Working with clients like this is just a dream for agency people. We developed a campaign that showed Gibco’s clients’ love of cell research. We did this by creating a campaign that started with real life cell scientists writing love letters to their research and then reading them on camera. From there we paired each of the scientists with an artist. Those artists then interpreted and brought to life their scientists particular field of cell research. We had science that was shown through the lens of visual art, textile art, augmented realty, poetry and more – we filmed the whole process, the final art unveiling and the raw reaction of when the scientists got to see their piece of art for the first time! You have to check it out.
Question 3: What do you like most about working at Park & Battery?
I love the people – the talent is incredible, and everyone who works here are just genuinely good human beings, and we all get on so well. We have very different personalities, and come from different places in the world, which means we get to bring something unique to the agency and our clients. But we all share similarities in that we are values driven, hard working, and passionate about doing great work – work we’re proud of. We’re kind to each other, we celebrate each other, and we have fun too – and that’s just magic. You know what…our clients are like that, too.
Question 4: What are you looking forward to?
So much, but without wishing time away, I can’t wait to look back in 5 years time and see the incredible growth of the agency, growth of the people and the award-winning work we created. Knowing I was part of it from the beginning and feeling a huge sense of pride for what we’d all built together. And I’m looking forward to the 5 years following that, too! I also can’t wait to go back to the UK at Christmas and meet my best friends baby, Suki who will be 7 months by then!
Question 5: If we could meet you at any intersection in the world, where are we going and what are we doing?
I think it would have to be getting on a sleeper train in India – one that we’ll be on for the next 12-24 hours at least. We get to see the most incredible ever changing landscape sat on the open steps of the train – from crowded cities to lush green tea plantations, and everything in between. Each stop welcomes an influx of people coming and going – walking along the tracks, catching their ride on top of the train, chai sellers and the most delicious vegetable biryani, that we eat with our hands. We’re heading south to zip around on mopeds and relax on the beach, after an epic 6 weeks traveling the north. The train journey though, is the best part of the whole trip.
Question 6: When you’re not working, how do you like to spend your time?
I love interior design and nothing brings me more joy than spending time in my little apartment in San Francisco, moving furniture around, and working with different colors, lighting and textiles to make it my own little sanctuary. I’m a keen swimmer and love swimming in the Bay – it’s cold but exhilarating and I always feel so alive after a swim out there. I also love walking with my dog, Buddy, grabbing an overpriced oat latte and listening to an audio book. I’ve just bought myself an e-bike, so I can’t wait to go exploring the city on that without the fear of a San Francisco hill stopping me in my tracks!
